The city of Taylorsville is one of the newest in the state of Utah, being incorporated in 1996. However, its origins date back as far as 1848 when pioneers Susanna and Joseph Harker first crossed the Jordan River and settled in the area. It is located in Salt Lake County and comprised of three historic communities: Kearns, Bennion and Taylorsville.
